Expert Council

About the Expert Council

The Expert Council of the Association of Certified Professionals brings together experienced entrepreneurs, company founders and executives, inventors, engineers, consultants, industry experts and other recognised professionals from different countries and fields.

The Expert Council supports the Association in matters requiring specialised knowledge, practical experience and independent professional assessment.

Its members are individuals with significant achievements, substantial experience, demonstrated leadership, industry recognition or other documented contributions within their respective fields.

The Expert Council provides specialised expertise, independent assessment and expert opinions in connection with membership review and other activities of the Association.

Composition of the Expert Council

The Expert Council consists of at least 20 experts representing different countries, industries and areas of expertise.

The number of Expert Council members is not limited to twenty and may increase as the Association develops, expands its international representation and introduces additional areas of expertise.

Selection of Experts

Appointment to the Expert Council is based on experience, significant achievements and demonstrated expertise within the relevant field.

In considering a candidate for the Expert Council, the Association may take into account:

  • significant professional or entrepreneurial achievements;

  • leadership of companies, teams or major projects;

  • establishment or development of successful businesses or areas of activity;

  • inventions, innovations, products, technologies or engineering solutions;

  • delivery of significant industry projects;

  • demonstrated impact on an organisation, market or industry;

  • professional, industry, national or international recognition;

  • awards, publications, speaking engagements, expert or judging activities;

  • other documented achievements demonstrating a high level of expertise.

Candidates may be nominated by the governing bodies of the Association, by members of the Expert Council, or invited directly by the Association.

Appointments to the Expert Council are made in accordance with the Association’s established rules.

Role of the Expert Council

Members of the Expert Council may participate in:

  • Expert Review

    Independent assessment of achievements and supporting evidence.

  • Professional Opinions

    Preparation of individual expert opinions on matters within their areas of expertise.

  • Membership Review

    Assessment of membership applicants through Expert Review Panels in accordance with the Association's Membership Rules.

  • Advisory Activities

    Providing expert recommendations on matters requiring specialised knowledge.

  • Development of Evaluation Standards

    Contributing to the development and improvement of evaluation criteria and assessment approaches within relevant fields.

  • Association Initiatives

    Participation in other expert and industry initiatives of the Association.

Expert Review Panels

For the assessment of a membership applicant, an Expert Review Panel is formed from members of the Expert Council and consists of at least three experts with expertise relevant to the applicant’s field and achievements.

Experts are selected according to the applicant’s field, the nature of the achievements presented and the expertise required to assess those achievements.

Each expert conducts an independent assessment of the applicant’s achievements, individual contribution and supporting evidence and provides a separate written expert opinion.

Following completion of the individual expert assessments, the Expert Review Panel makes the admission decision in accordance with the Association’s Membership Rules.

Independence and Conflicts of Interest

Members of the Expert Council are expected to act independently, impartially and within their areas of competence.

An expert must not participate in an assessment where personal, business, financial or other circumstances may create an actual or potential conflict of interest.

In such circumstances, the expert is excluded from the relevant review and, where necessary, replaced by another appropriately qualified expert.

Information and materials provided for a non-public expert review are used solely for the purposes of the relevant assessment and handled in accordance with the Association’s applicable rules.
